Bio
I have been practicing family law exclusively since my NM bar admission in 2019.
I handle most types of family law issues, including, but not limited to, divorce, custody, parentage, child support, kinship guardianship, and grandparent visitation.
I have a deep commitment to client advocacy, education, and legal navigation. My clients receive a thorough explanation of objective procedural requirements, law relevant to their case, and enlightenment of how the world of law, procedure and equity intertwine in a domestic matters case. Then, I provide a subjective analysis of their specific set of personal circumstances. I prefer to resolve issues with out-of-court collaborative negotiation, but I also welcome the challenges of court. I am a fierce litigator when the need arises.
My commitment to family law developed prior to law school. I worked as a legal assistant, paralegal, and law clerk at various firms and nonprofit organizations. For example, I was the managing coordinator of a Family Law Court Program, which cooperated with several metropolitan district courts to annually provide hundreds of low-income parties with filing assistance and representation in non-contested divorce and custody matters.
Personal Note
I grew up in the northern suburbs of Denver, where much of my extended family still resides. My family has always been my greatest treasure- one that continues to grow! I cherish the special relationships with my many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. My retired parents make several trips a year to Albuquerque and I love introducing them to the fabulous things New Mexico has to offer.
I have several hobbies, but being an Escape Room Enthusiast is at the top of my list.
I’m a coffeephile and bookworm, with a love of corny jokes.
I’m an energetic, social person who enjoys networking in dynamic environments. I enjoy staying active in the community. I love experiencing Albuquerque’s vibrant social scenes and rarely pass up an opportunity to visit new cultural hotspots.
